Hope & Comfort

Job 5:1 through 7:21

Let me first say that I think Job’s friend is off base on the thinking that Job had caused his calamity from sin. Does sin sometimes result in consequences ? Yes..but not in this case. We can’t label everything so broadly. We live in a fallen world where tragedy strikes the innocent. However not all of what Job’s friends say in chapter 5 is wrong. There is some good stuff in there…I especially love “so the poor have hope and injustice shuts its mouth.” Did he have bad advice? yes..but he also seems to know something about God and His ways.

Poor Job..You can just feel his pain can’t you? The despair..the anguish…the hopelessness. As I read this, I can’t help but think of Haiti and how those same feeling must be there. Friends, let’s be earnest in our prayers. Let’s ask the God of all comfort to be there in Haiti.

As 2 Corinthians states “The Father of compassion and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our troubles”

As we speak about hope, let me share some pictures of the new Hannah’s Hope. The kids are so blessed to be staying at a wonderful place thanks to all of the supporters of Hannah’s Hope Ethiopia.

Thanks to Kim Wenzel for sharing her pictures.

If you’d like to learn more about Hannah’s Hope you can visit All God’s Children and if you’d like to support Hannah’s Hope by sending supplies, send me an email at gcknight@verizon.net and I will gladly help you!

  1. love the pics!

I'm always trying to 'be good' in exchange for God's grace - and then kicking myself for thinking this, and then asking God to please... please, please don't give me what I deserve.... it's a cycle with me!
