I am His

During the adoption process we receive many many well meaning comments. Some are hurtful and some are just out of not understanding and some give good advice.

A good friend sent me an email and told me to quit saying “yes, I’m crazy” every time I mentioned we were adopting again. His response was that we were following God and obeying His call. As I thought about why I kept doing that—I discovered my real reason was to deflect the comments ahead of time. To say it before others did.

Quite honestly, I don’t expect everyone to understand—it’s a calling God has given our family. But I do want everyone to know, that while I respect your thoughts, the most important thoughts to me are God’s. His pleasure is the one I seek.

I just read a blog post that answers some of those questions with grace and beauty. Check it out here

Today’s Reading- Numbers 2:1 through 3:51

What struck me today 3:13

……I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, whether man or animal. They are to be mine. I am the Lord.

How blessed we are today that God we can also be included in that verse! As followers of Him we are His and we are set apart.

That is my prayer today…That I act accordingly to being set apart. That my life echoes the God whom I belong to. I am His…and so grateful to be so.
