Teen Justice Day

I was blessed today to be with a group of teens that wanted to know more about justice (okay, I admit, I think some came to just be nice—but 3 told me afterwards that they were afraid it was going to be boring but that it was very inspiring :) want to know what a teen thinks? just ask—they will tell! lol)

We spent the day learning about the oppressed and God’s heart for justice and what we can do about it here and now. Eye-opening stuff.

We were supposed to go and volunteer at the local shelter for victims of abuse but the staff had came down with major illness and asked us to postpone. So we’ll do that another time. The group decided that we would like to really clean the living quarters and make bags to give out and possibly decorate to make it warm and cozy if needed. 3 of the gals just left to hit up Target for donations. My kind of girls!

One of our activities was to draw a picture of what injustice looks like. (This was done after pizza when everyone was in the ‘just ate’ slump)

Here are their pictures:

  1. Wow thats so cool that you get to have such a powerful impact on there lives...So cool! Thanks for sharing!

  2. What an awesome thing to do. I would so love to find a way to work with teens. I think they have so much to offer the world and are so often underestimated.
