Guatemala with Desi!

Guatemala Recap!  Our next couple of posts will be sharing about the crew's trip to Guatemala.  Their hearts were touched and are dealing with the re-entry back into the states and processing all they have seen.  Greg is still looking for that job that pays him to go from place to place serving and helping others. :) Bonus if it allows the family to travel with him as well.  Anyone have any leads?

Greg, Rebekah, and Josh's (plus the Olshove crew!) first stop was with Desi in San Antonio, Guatemala.

Read more about Desi and what she is doing here:

I met Desi several years ago in Guatemala with our first trip there to Dorie's Promise.  We were all excited to connect with her again.

The crew stayed at hostel in Antigua and loved the signs:

Beautiful Guatemala!

The team built 2 chicken coops, planted a garden, planted fruit trees and did some clean up work with Desi.  The boys played soccer with some local children and the girls learned how to make tortillas with fresh corn and the best guacamole ever.

The met people their own age that have such different lives and responsibilities that it caused them all to pause.

They met and prayed with the mayor of San Antonio.

My 2 favorite pictures Rebekah took. This is the young girl they built a chicken coop for. They were blessed to spend a day with her family and to fellowship with and pray with them.  Her family taught the girls how to cook (and laughed at them a lot!) :)

Savannah made this video when she came home.

More to come later on Village of Hope!
